Respecting your Independence

Shivas Home-Care will support service users to remain in their social surroundings and networks helping them to continue with their preferred life style.

  • With consent of the service users Shivas Home-Care will provide budget advice to service users to proper use of their money with utmost requirement i.e. planning outings, shopping, attending social events or other external activities and venues.
  • Domestic care tasks like cleaning, laundry and ironing can be considered should service users require this however; service users will be supported to retain their life skills.  The care team will support day-to-day routines but when service users are not able to continue doing their day to day tasks anymore the team will take on the daily tasks to ensure the quality of life and lifestyle is still maintained.
  • We also offer balances nutritional care, when service users will agree providing food preparation and balanced meal advisory service.

However, our Support Worker cannot perform tasks which require skills of clinical professionals:

  • Bladder Washout
  • Bowel Evacuations
  • Ear syringing
  • Filling Oxygen Cylinders
  • Injection
  • Lifting from the floor unaided
  • Replacing Catheters
  • Toe nail cutting                        
  • Tracheotomy care
  • Skin Prick tests for diabetics
